Also we got some roasts from Safeway who had them on sale for 1.88lb. We always stock up when it comes on sale. Well worth the money saver!

Also remember to save food coupons you recieve as well. I save all mine in a large zip lock bag and sometimes even leave them in my car. We have KFC coupons, Subway, Olive Garden, Chili's, and etc.. Shopping this week (K-mart is the place to go!)
For those of you who may not have heard k-mart is doing their super doubles deals. They will double coupons up to 2.00 in value. This means that any two dollar coupons will be worth 4.00 at checkout!! For all you St. Johns folks this is a really great since you don't have all the options that are here in the valley. I did check and Show Low stores are participating. The deal ends Saturday.
Here is how my shopping trip went yesterday.
K-Mart

(2) Pledge Multi-surface - 1.19 (You can get this for .19 with printable coupon on their website I had just already printed it for another pledge product)
(2) Oust -Free
As you can see it went pretty well but there were still tons more free things or really cheap stuff that the two k-marts I went to were out of so I didnt get everything I wanted. I did make it out of both stores spending less that 20 dollars on items that are usually 3+ dollars each. Just make sure to take your high dollar coupons and check for sales on those items. I also got a 5.00 k-mart giftcard for buying four boxes of Kellogg's cereal so at one store I only ended up paying like 3.00. My husband has my other receipt so I know there are more deals and if I get a chance I will post them later. Oh and also make sure to check if your coupons doubled. None of my 2.00 coupons did so I had to go to customer service and get my money back.

CVS Today
My first trip to CVS went really well. Here is what I did and hopefully it will give you an idea as well.
1st transaction: Colgate TP 3.99 get 3.99 ECB ( Used 2.99 previous ECB & .75 off coupon and paid .34 OOP)
2nd transaction: Colgate TP 3.99 get 3.99 ECB (Used 3.99 ECB from previous trans & .75 off coupon) There is an overage so I got mentos and paid.16 OOP)
3rd Trasaction: Softsoap 4.99 get 4.99 ECB (Used previous ECB from trans 2 & .75 off coupon) I paid .34 OOP and came home with 4.99 ECB for my next trip.
Total I paid .84 for all four items but came home with 4.99 ECB.
They also have Pantene on sale and we have coupons for it too. You also get ECB when you buy. Good-luck!
A Few Good Deals
A few other freebies this week are craft salad dressing at Albertsons and Colgate Toothpaste at Safeway. The other good deal is the miracle whip for .50. You can price match this at wal-mart if you would like. Its on sale and Bashas for 1.50 minus your 1.00 off coupon. Also Dole fruit is on sale at several stores this week and after coupons it is also .50. Fry's also has mustard for .50. The other deal I thought was really good was the Swanson chicken broth at Walgreens for .50. One last good deal is the vanilla extract at Bashas for .50. There are a lot of other things for under 1.00 this week so make sure to go through the ads. These are just the best deals for our family and things I need to get stocked back up on. There were no coupons in today's paper due to the holiday and remember sales expire on Tuesday!
Freebie!
I went to Target and Wal-mart today and both stores had vitamin water for 1.00. After the coupon in this last weeks paper you can get it for free.
Updates
Coupons.com has some new coupons up so you might want to check those out. Also resturaunts.com is 60% off right now. It will probably go up to 70% here soon so I will let you know when I see that happen.
Updates
I am currently updating some things on my site. If things look weird at times, thats why! :)
Getting Started with Coupon Shopping
I have been receiving LOTS of emails and requests from people about how to get started with coupons. I would LOVE LOVE to help everyone but I know its impossible for me to help everyone and a lot of you live out of town. Coupons aren't really something you can explain through email because there is so much information. I signed up for couponsense this month just to see what it was all about. I am really impressed with the information they offer but I wont continue doing it just because I already know how to find the deals on my own. I think its really great for beginners. The first month is 4.00 so you can try it out and if you dont like it you can cancel your subscription. They teach you everything about organizing your coupons and they tell you what the good deals are so you can pull your coupons. They also have ways to create your shopping list and message boards. You also have an instructor who you can email and call if you need. I would really recommend it because it will help you maximize your savings right off. If you do decide to do couponsense, Kelley McCormick is a really great instructor! Also put your referral person as Sarah Bast since I wont be doing the program much longer. She is my neighbor who referred me and is the reason I am referring the program as well. Hope this helps everyone!!
Also- if you live near fry's the cereal is a really good deal this week so check it out! :)
Fry's this week
For me Fry's was the place to go this week. They are doing their 5 off when you buy 10 participating items. If you dont have a Fry's near you, Safeway is doing the same thing. I just have Fry's right across the street and get discounts on gas when I shop there. Here are a few ideas of things on sale and what you should have coupons for. Most of this stuff I got and I only spent $41 at check out. Also remember the idea of coupon shopping is to stock up when things are on sale so if you have more than one coupon make sure you use the ones you have so you stay stocked up until it goes on sale again.
All prices are assuming you buy at least 10 items and after coupon as well.
Tropicana Juice - 1.39
Chex mix bars -. 50
Nature Valley bars - .50
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks - .50
Irish Spring Soap (3 bars) - .50
Sargento Cheese - .50
Colgate toothpaste - FREE
Cottonelle toilet Paper - FREE
I had three coupons for all this stuff so I bought three of each plus the Irish Spring coupon you had to buy two so I got about 18 bars of soup for 3.00. I also got some other things like chicken broth which was on sale, fruits, veggies, hamburger buns, black beans, BBQ chip, el pato sauce, and other random things. All this for 41.oo so you can for sure do it too! Good Luck shopping this week!!
Target & CVS
Well today I got the free bread and pledge wipes at Target thanks to commonsensewithmoney. Make sure to print your coupons off the target website before you go. Also you need a manufacturer coupon for the pledge too. At CVS I got the toothpaste that was free after ECB. Yes I finally did it, I started CVS and my first experience was good except they were out of quite a few things I wanted to get. If you are looking for more freebies check for the Irish Spring soap and the right guard deodorant at CVS as well. I am looking forward to grocery deals which come out tomorrow and hopefully will be able to keep my blog better updated with weekly sales.
Freebies!
Dont we all just love freebies! This week you can get toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant for free. Also you can get a jumbo pack of huggies diapers for 1.99 after your coupon. Also we got Kelloggs cereal at Fry's for .50 this week because our freebies made 10 items and you get 5 off at checkout. Not too bad.
I also hope everyone got the free shampoo, conditioner, gum, and hair style stuff last week for free. I didnt have time to post. Actually I think the sale goes through Sunday so you still might be able to get it at Wal-greens. Good-luck shopping this week. Fry's especially has some good deals this week so make sure you check out their add or go to pinchingyourpennies for more details.
I just saw this too. Resturaunts.com is 80% off. Reed and I took advantage of this last month and got two 25 giftcards for 4.00. Now we have a cheaper date night or gift for someone. Just enter the code MENU at checkout and get a 25 giftcard for 2.00. Some of them do have stipulations so make sure you read.
A few savings Ideas..
Today was a pretty good day. I was gone most of this week so I really didnt have time to do grocery, grocery shopping so instead I just found a few good deals and went and got them today. Hopefully this will help you with a few ideas too. I basically spent 9.45 on all the stuff below and saved 34.47 which is like 86% of my bill. I printed of the 5.00 off coupons from coupons.com and Target had wipes for 5.99 so I got 3 of those for .99 each. I had coupons for free eggs, 1.00 of ice cream ( it was on sale for 2.99), 4.00 two baby products, and 3.00 on diapers. I spent a total of 5.45 at Fry's using all my coupons plus all of the stuff was on sale too. I also went by wal-greens and got two of the rebate items which was cold medicine and axe shampoo + conditioner and paid with my gift card so it was free plus I will submit the rebates which make them free anyways. You can also try to get the free Gillette face and body wash from target or Wal-mart by using your coupon for that. I tried but they didnt have it at Target. At least I couldnt find it.
Also if you register at Diary Queen and the Chili's website you can get some free things too. We love going to both places so I did both.
Grocery Deals 2/25-3/3
Click http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20 to see grocery deals. Fry's has a really good sale this week where lots of stuff is just a 1.00 minus the coupons. They are just doubling right now. I believe safeway and bashas double as well.
Free Food & Resturaunts.com
In case you didnt know today you can get free pancakes at IHOP until 10:00 tonight, two free tacos at Jack-in-the-box, and free sub at quiznos with an online coupon. Also I got two giftcards for $25 at resturaunts.com for 4.00. Its a super good site.
This Weeks Shopping & CVS
Well I didnt do much shopping this week but I did get a few things that were good deals.
*I ordered 20 free prints today from Walgreen's with the promo they were running. I also got two things of lysol wipes because they were on sale and we have coupons. I used my previous rebate giftcard to pay so it was FREE.
*I also went to fry's and got:
6 Mentos gum-Free
3 Dial Hand Soap - Free
Comfort Diapers - 2.99
Cottonelle TP - Free
*I went to Wal-Mart and the best deal I got was the free bread and lunch meat. I decided to get a thing of hot dog buns with one coupon and then two loaves of bread with the other two. I also got three things of lunchmeat and the best part was that it was all FREE! I also got 4 things of mini-wheats for 3.00 which was pretty good because they are usually expensive.
*Also I am finally starting to learn CVS a little. I went there today for the first time. Here is an example of something you could do there. They have a Extra Care Bucks (ECB) system which is money to use on your next purchase.
Get two things of Neutrogena face lotion for 5.? and get 10 ECB. You actually make about 4.00 on the deal. Then do a separate transaction and get two things of triaminic medicine for kids and use your 10 ECB from previous purchase to help pay for it and use 2(1.00) off coupons. You also get 10 ECB from buying the 2 things of medicine so it turns out to be a pretty good deal. Hope that makes sense. I went today to do just that and I couldnt find the face lotion that was supposed to be there and my baby was sick so I was trying to hurry. Hopefully it works out better for you!
The Coupon Class is Canceled
I cancelled the coupon class for Saturday. It turned out to be a really bad weekend. Many people are going to be out of town and my stake is now doing a woman's conference Saturday which eliminated many people as well. I am not sure if I will try doing another class in the future or not but if you have questions or want to share your good deals just post a comment on my blog. This also means most of the information I come across will be on my blog. I know I was going to send many people the information from the class but now that I am not doing it I wont be typing up a lot of the information. Good-luck to everyone with their coupon shopping! I will continue to post good deals as I see them.
Free Bread and Lunch Meat
At Albertsons they have little booklets that show their sales for the entire month. On the back there are two coupons for SaraLee soft and smooth bread and Hillshire Farm lunch meat. Up above it says you need to buy the DVD to get it free but the coupons are manufacturers coupons and you do not have to buy the DVD to get it free. So go pick up some Alberstons booklets, as many as you want, clip the coupons, and go to any store to get your free bread and lunch meat. Lunch meat and bread can both go in the freezer too so I stocked up especially on the lunch meat.
Preview
Sadly Fry's is just continuing their sale they had last week and I dont see anything super great you can get there this week. If I do see something I will let you know. I will update with new sales info on Wednesday once we get the ads.

Getting Excited about Coupon Shopping
To help get you excited about starting your coupon shopping consider this senario:
Last night I went to Fry's because they were having their Mega Deal where you buy 10 participating items and get 5 off your bill. I also had coupons for everything I bought in the mega deal so it made the items very cheap and lots of free stuff. Here are a few examples:
6 cans Hormel chili beans FREE
4 cans Rotel diced tomatoes FREE
3 mustard FREE
6 steamers vegies FREE
6 lotion kleenix FREE
2 Cottonelle toilet paper FREE
12 pace picante salsa
11 pilsbury crecent rolls
6 popcorn
3 lysol bleach cleaner
2 pert shampoo
3 chex mix snacks
We got 64 items and spent a total of $22.55 and saved over 145 dollars which is an 85% savings.
Tips
Here are some tips to remember when coupon shopping
1) Its okay if you dont get every good deal
2) Only buy things your family will eat, dont just buy because its on sale
3) Wait until things go on sale and use your coupons with the sale items
4) You cant be brand specific but most of the time you get brand names anyways
5) Sales go in cycles so if you dont get it one time around there will always be another sale
Getting Organized
The first step to being successful in coupon shopping is to GET ORGANIZED! There are many methods you can use to organize your coupons. I am sure everyone will come up with their own unique way to organize but here are a few suggestions. The first method is the bin method, the second is the binder method, and the third is my own personal method.
Bin Method
1) File all coupons in bin by using folders with the dates you recieved each newspaper.
2) Most websites refer to coupons by telling you the date (1/18/09) and what coupon stack its in (SS =SmartSource)(RP=Red Plum)(P&G= Proctor & Gamble).
3) Once you know where to find the coupon by date and stack you can clip coupons and get ready to shop!
Binder Method
1) Buy or find a binder and put baseball card holders inside
2) Clip all coupons from newspaper or printables and organize according to category and type.
Example: You would have a baseball holder for cereal and then organize the cereal according to brand such as Kellogg's, Post, Quaker, Etc.. and add these to the different baseball holders
3) Before going to store pull out all coupons you think you will use.
4) Take the binder with you to the store incase you forget or find other deals.
My Method
1) I found an old picture book and organized my coupons in this. The pages are wider and coupons fit easier
2) I then organized my coupons by putting different colored paperclips on the ends of the pages to represent different categories such as freezer items, breakfast, baby, household, etc..
3) I put a color coded key on the first part of the book so I would remember which paper clip is for what type of items.
4) I clip all coupons and organize into the book
5) Before I go to the store I pull out what coupons I want to use and put them in envelopes for the different stores I will be going to.
6) The picture book is fairly small so I always take it with me to the store too.
